1273: Resource Calendar Date Manual Setting not working

Related to Case 1274. The calendar date option could produce a continuous loop.

The calendar control displays a message that allows the user to insert "Today's" date to return to the calendar control and enter the correct date. This is expected behavior with all calendar controls in SMARTer Manager.

1274: Message - Not a Valid Date

The calendar control in the Resource Schedule allowed the user to manually enter an incorrect date and would return a message: Not a Valid Date. This behavior caused

1330: Purchasing - Part type "Other", tab from Item Number to Description, can't see dropdown....

The Purchase Order data entry form hid the Item Number and Description for part type Other.

The Other part type now uses a more familiar look, similar to the Locate function in SMARTer Manager. The results are returned in a grid format in full view.

The issue has been resolved in version 1.0.0.x of SMARTer Manager and new functionality has been implemented.

1440: Unlock Frozen Shipments

The confirmation message that appeared when clicking the Unfreeze Schedule wasn't clear.

The message is more clear now. A status bar appears showing the progress of Unfreezing a currently frozen schedule.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1591: Production Order Requirements are cleared

Editing a Sales Order shipment quantities that produce a Production Order Requirement would clear the old requirements. Requirements for the new shipment quantity were not added.

NEW: Now when the user edits the shipment quantity of a Sales Order the Production Order Requirements are recalculated and remain as requirements for production.

1640: SQL Script Runner cannot run on SQL upgrade folder

NEW: A new utility has been added to all SMARTer Manager installs allowing for easier application of database scripts to be run by the user and CEB.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

991: Job Schedule - Schedule Summary - By Number

NEW: The Job Schedule by Summary and by Number is updated to include the new Frozen/Locked status functionality in scheduling.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1055: Ability to show applied Discounts and Credits on the invoice.

NEW: Added the availability of fields in the Printer Form Designer to show invoice Discounts and Credits on the printed form.

Existing users will need to modify their existing forms to add these fields.

1589: Infinite Resource Ignore Shifts

NEW: Infinite Ignore Shifts / Infinite Use Shifts

Previous

Scheduling would create a NO CAPACITY error for resources without shifts, regardless of whether the global scheduling capacity setting in AutoPilot or Process Plan was FINITE or INFINITE.

Feature Change

If AutoPilot or Process Plan's global scheduling capacity setting is INFINITE IGNORE SHIFTS, resources without shifts will not cause a NO CAPACITY error. Similarly, individual resources set to INFINITE IGNORE SHIFTS will never cause a NO CAPACITY error due to a lack of assigned shifts.

Previous

The schedule operations loop would check if the operation had already started. If so, it would temporarily change the scheduling capacity setting from its selected value (FINITE or INFINITE) to INFINITE while that operation is being scheduled.

Feature Change

The schedule operations loop checks if the operation has already started. If so, it temporarily changes the scheduling capacity setting from its selected setting (FINITE, INFINITE USE SHIFTS, INFINITE IGNORE SHIFTS) to INFINITE USE SHIFTS while that operation is being scheduled. Although at first glance this behavior doesn't appear any different, it is very different when the AutoPilot is executed with global scheduling capacity setting INFINITE IGNORE SHIFTS. In other words, operations that have started will respect the resource's assigned shifts, i.e., INFINITE USE SHIFTS, even if the user has set the schedule's capacity to INFINITE IGNORE SHIFTS.

886: Add the Sales Order Number to the Production Requirements

NEW: Added the Sales Order Number and Item to the Production Requirements grid view.

887: Add the Sales Order Number to the Purchasing Requirements Window

NEW: Added the Sales Order Number to the Purchasing Requirements Window.
Sales Order Number added as a column display option when customizing the Order
Requirements grid.

1497: New Travelers needed for Web DCS

NEW: Added report files Trvl01_WDCS.rpt and Trvl03_WDCS.rpt to the SMARTer Manager installation.

These reports are exclusive to the browser-based DCS for scanning and recording data.

1576: Some Jobs will not schedule

See Parent Case 1589: Infinite Resources Ignore Shifts

Previous verions:

Force Infinite Resources - Treat every resource as an infinite resource.

Allow SMARTer Manager to consider all resources as infinite for this production run.

SMARTer Manager overlaps the schedules of multiple jobs at each resource. Use this for infinite capacity facility analysis.  Infinite resources can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This option allows SMARTer Manager to overlap this job’s schedule with jobs that are already scheduled that use the same resources.

Examples of Infinite Resource Scheduling

Capacity analysis
What-If scenario
Loading an unattended machine until the job/process is finished
Outside service
Identify bottlenecks
Load leveling

Definitions - Infinite Resource and it's purpose regarding scheduling.

Infinite loading: Ignores capacity constraints, but helps identify bottlenecks in a proposed schedule to enable proactive management. Scheduling that calculates the capacity needed at work centers in the time period needed without regard to the capacity available to do the work. Scheduling that loads work centers up to a predetermined amount of capacity.

Finite loading: Allows only as much work to be assigned as can be done with available capacity – but doesn’t prepare for inevitable slippage

Infinite loading: Two kinds of work scheduling or work loading are infinite loading and finite loading. Infinite loading schedules work without regard to capacity limits. They let you know how much capacity you need to meet a schedule.

Manufacturing companies can use infinite loading according to a proposed master production schedule (MPS). A service organization like a law firm can use infinite loading to identify the resources needed to complete the proposed case load. Infinite loading identifies uneven workloads and bottlenecks. Figure 15-3 is an example of infinite loading. We can see from the chart that the shop has enough capacity in periods 4 and 7 but not enough capacity in periods 5 and 8. In this way, we identify time periods when capacity is either poorly used or inadequate and change the schedule to level the resource requirements.

Infinite loading identifies resource bottlenecks for a proposed schedule so that planners can find solutions proactively, such as changing the schedule and increasing the resource capacity. Finite loading develops the operational schedule that uses the available capacity. Finite and infinite loading assign work to specific work centers based on a proposed schedule. Both techniques use either a schedule (infinite loading) or a prioritized list of jobs to
be done (finite loading).

1584: Read Only User cannot perform fast find or locate

NEW: Updated the functions of an access code set to Read-Only. The users who log in under the Read-Only setting can perform Fast Find and Locate functions on data.

1602: DCS - generating "Result file Not Updated" error

When logging data from the browser-based DCS, some users experienced a message, "Result file Not Updated."

This issue was due to security settings on the user's profile, domain security or other operating system settings.

All security sensitive files are installed in the preferred location shared by all users on an individual device or pc which resolved the issue.

1638: DCS default to port 8080

The new browser-based DCS was set to a default port of 80. This could cause a conflict with other software and default operating system settings.

The communication port has been updated to default to port 8080 with the initial install of DCS Gen2.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1644: httpd.conf needs to be updated to listen on 8080

Related to Case 1644. Configuration changes to the new browser-based DCS engine listens on port 8080 for all DCS transactions.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1612: Can't run client install from shared WS directory on the server

Running the client install from the shared directory on the server may fail. This is due to security and operating system settings.

The issue is resolved by changing the way the client installation works. There is a Client_Workstation.bat file that runs for client installations and all necessary directories and files are placed on the server during the server install and shared on the network.

Only installation files are shared in the WS directory on the server.

1593: Install fails to locate Utility folder

Moved all client install files to a public directory and updated the installation to respect new operating system security.

1587: VIEWGRAPHS Ambiguous field name

When using the View Graph in View Builder adding some fields returned an error message to the user, "AMBIGUOUS FIELD NAME....".

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

Building Graphs for data views does not exhibit this issue anymore.

1603: Temp table rows not being cleared

A temporary table used when printing invoices was not cleared when the user was finished printing. This caused records to accumulate over time and unnecessary data to be stored in the database.

The temporary table is now cleared each time the user has finished printing.

1605: DCS Web - Update to version 10

No version number was visible to the user logging in prior versions of the browser-based DCS.

The main login screen to the browser-based DCS displays the version number of the software on the main screen.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1405: Assembly tab Slow Query

The ability to have an unlimited number of assemblies in SMARTer Manager's BOM module caused a slow response.

When viewing the Assembly tab with hundreds or thousands of associated sub-assembly and component jobs the tab became unresponsive or tool a long time to load.

This issue has been resolved and the tab displays quickly regardless of the number of levels it is returning.

962: Cert Number Doesn't Hold on Reprint

Closely related to cases 472 and 911.

The challenges are invoices can exist without shipment transactions. Shipment
transactions can print certificates without invoices, and all printing can
selectively reoccur later in Invoices & Credits.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x and certification numbers remain consistent on
reprint.

NEW: The Certificate Number is added to the Shipments Invoiced Transactions grid.

1315: System Tables and Codes - Tab Sequence and Keyboard Arrows

Updated the tab and keyboard arrow sequence in the Codes module of SMARTer Manager. The user can now move in a more sequential manner when navigating the form with keyboard strokes.

1628: DCS Web service incorrectly titled

Running the new version of DCS as a service displayed the wrong title in the Services module of the operating system.

This has been updated and the title
SMeDCS.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1636: Process Plan not showing attached images

The Process Plan object icon was active but no object was available for viewing when the user clicked the icon.

This behavior was caused by attaching an object that was not set to "Print with Forms" or not getting the proper identification from the parent to which it was attached.

This issue has been resolved. A unique identification is assigned from the parent of the attached object.

1637: Object Manager unable to view "jpeg" files

NEW: Updated the Object Manager to view files with the extension .jpeg the same as files with the extension .jpg.

1642: Production Orders navigation slow

Closely related to case 1405. Large datasets had a slow response when navigating through thousands of records.

This issue has been resolved in version 10.x with a significant increase.

1653: User limit lock failure

The databases used for security monitory and control is no longer compatible with newer operating systems and security features.

NEW: Added better security and user control to version 10.x of SMARTer Manager with the replacement of user databases with monitoring tables.

Removed the old databases used for security and control and implemented Firebird's monitory table feature.

1599: Shipments Displays Job Number for Sales Order

NEW: Updated the Shipment Schedule grid to show the Sales Order number and Item.

1623: DCS - Web Header Update

A new header was added to the browser-based DCS to make it more identifiable. The familiar SMARTer logo and the text Shop Floor Data Collection has been added.

This issue is resolved in version 10.x

1600: Add SO Number to Inventory Grids

NEW: Updated the inventory reservation and inventory requirements grids to show the Sales Order number and Item.
